About Skyello

Skyello builds compliance automation software for industrial operations. Our platform monitors real-time process data, automates regulatory reporting, and surfaces compliance risks at facility scale. We are deploying with major US refineries and growing.

The role

You will own the integration layer between our platform and customer infrastructure at large industrial facilities. That means building production-grade data pipelines from industrial historians, control systems, and enterprise platforms into our cloud application, and ensuring fault-tolerant, high-reliability data flow that operations teams depend on daily.

This is not a greenfield experiment. There is a live enterprise customer, a defined scope, and a deployment timeline. You will be accountable for the data pipeline performing correctly every hour of every day in a regulated environment where missed data has real consequences.

You will work directly with the CEO and CTO. This is a foundational engineering hire.

What we're looking for

Required

  • 6–8 years backend software engineering experience
  • Demonstrated production experience building data integrations between industrial systems (historians, SCADA, DCS, IoT gateways) and cloud or web applications
  • You have built and maintained systems where uptime and data integrity were non-negotiable, not just preferred
  • Deep API design and REST/event-driven integration skills
  • Proven ability to architect data pipelines that handle time-series data at scale with fault tolerance, retry logic, and gap detection
  • Proficiency in at least two of: .NET/C#, Python, Java, Go
  • Production experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) including infrastructure, monitoring, and deployment
  • Track record of working with enterprise IT and OT teams at large organizations, navigating security requirements, network access, and change management processes
  • You have shipped integrations with enterprise systems such as SAP, Oracle, or comparable platforms
  • Self-directed. You define the approach, make architectural decisions, and deliver without waiting for direction

Preferred

  • Direct experience with AVEVA PI, OSIsoft PI, or comparable industrial data historians (Aspen InfoPlus.21, Honeywell PHD, Yokogawa Exaquantum)
  • Experience with industrial communication protocols (OPC-UA, OPC-DA, MQTT, Modbus)
  • Background in oil and gas, petrochemical, power generation, or heavy process manufacturing
  • Experience operating within OT network security models (L2/L3 segmentation, DMZ architectures, Purdue model)
  • You have been the primary technical point of contact for enterprise customers during deployment and integration phases

Compensation

Total compensation
$150,000 – $190,000
Base salary
$120,000 – $140,000
Equity
1–2%
Performance bonus
$30,000 – $50,000, revenue-based
Benefits
Health insurance, flexible PTO, remote-first, travel to client sites as needed

How to apply

Send your resume and a brief description of integration work you have delivered in industrial or enterprise environments. Specific examples matter more than a list of technologies.
